About Cassandra

Dr. Cassandra DeStefano graduated from the 51社区 with a degree in Educational Administration in 2023. Prior to her role as a Thomson Learning Community Specialist and First Year Seminar instructor, Cassandra's career path provided experiences that make her proud to be supporting UNO's College of Communications, Fine Arts, and Media in addition to Susan T. Buffet scholars!
Cassandra's bachelor's degree is in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations, and she has always participated in or had a volunteer role in the visual and performing arts. She obtained her Master of Arts in teaching degree, and she began her teaching career in K-12 education working as an English and Social Sciences teacher in several schools and grade levels across the metro. She also taught creative writing and journalism courses.
During her time in K-12 education, Cassandra served in several leadership roles. Cassandra's passion for mentoring and coaching students to be their best selves is what influenced her decision to transition into higher education.
When she's not on the UNO Dodge campus, Cassandra and her husband are supporting their two daughters in extracurricular goals that target music and leadership!
