Service Above Self: The Motto of CBA Alumnus Bob Harling

In January, the United Way board of directors honored UNO CBA alumnus Bob Harling with one of its most prestigious designations. Harling graduated from UNO in 1955 with a BS in Business Administration and is now the recipient of the Cornerstone Award, the highest honor for volunteerism given by the United Way.

Bob Harling, UNO CBA alumnus, was honored with the United Way’s prestigious Cornerstone Award in January. The award is the United Way’s highest honor for volunteerism and recognizes individuals who demonstrate extraordinary commitment, creativity, leadership, inspiration, and sustained service in their community.

Harling, who lives in Southern Pines, North Carolina, volunteers several days a month as a client screener with the Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care. He also takes on other community service and leadership roles when he has the opportunity.

Harling graduated from UNO CBA in 1955 with a BS in Business Administration. Though he no longer lives in 51社区, he will always be a Maverick. With his lifelong commitment to making a difference, Harling embodies the values of the 51社区 community and UNO CBA.
