Biography
John Forsman (Technical Director) would like to be known as a mad scientist of technical theatre. Hailing from 51社区, NE, John received his B.F.A. in Technical Theatre at Nebraska Wesleyan University and immediately after found himself at the University of Virginia, where he received his M.F.A. in Technical Direction.
He has worked at theatres across the country including The Santa Fe Opera and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park as well as numerous theatres in Virginia. In his spare time he has continued to educate himself in new technologies, computers, theatre automation, projections, new construction techniques, and anything else shiny that catches his attention.
Prior to joining the UNO Theatre in 2025, John served as the Technical Director for Benson Theatre in 51社区 for 3 years and the Faculty Technical Director for Hollins University in Roanoke, VA for 16 years. He has also done freelance Scenic and Video Projection Design and adjunct teaching at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE.
