Additional Information
About Billy
Current Program:
Postdoctoral Research Associate / Sport Scientist for UNO Athletics
Undergraduate Degree & Institution:
B.Sc. (Hons) in Sport Science, St Mary’s University, London, 2019
Master’s Degree & Institution:
M.Res. in Sports Biomechanics, St Mary’s University, London, 2021
Doctoral Degree & Institution:
Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Auburn University, Auburn, 2025
Research Interests:
My primary focus to date has been on how individuals achieve levels of performance biomechanically in upper extremity sports. During my PhD, however, I came to realise that individuals achieve this in a multitude of different ways. Moreover, their strategy is contingent on both task and anthropometric constraints. Consequently, my interests are now moving more towards the underlying factors associated with these constraints (e.g., muscle coordination).
Personal Background:
Originally from the UK, I came to academia a little later in life. After spending the best part of 10 years cooking professionally in fine dining restaurants, I made the decision to switch to an environment more suited to exploring my intellectual curiosity. Since doing so, I've enjoyed challenging myself in numerous different ways, and expanded my horizons far beyond what I thought I was capable of!
Fun Fact:
I have been in a movie with Samuel L Jackson, and subsequently have my own IMDb page.
