Scholarship Awards
Scott Scholars candidates must be eligible to receive the UNO Regent's Scholarship or another approved full tuition scholarship. To inquire about Regents eligibility, please contact the Office of Financial Support and Scholarships.
In line with current Regent's requirements, Scott Scholars applicants must meet the following criteria:- US citizens or permanent US residents with current residency in Nebraska
- Graduating seniors of Nebraska high schools
- Minimum ACT Composite score of 32 or greater
- Students taking the "new" version of the ACT must have taken the Science test.
The University of Nebraska System's is also accepted for students who receive a perfect 36 ACT (or SAT 1570-1600).
Students with ACT Composite of 30-31
While students who are eligible for the Regent's or Presidential scholarship are the most competitive applicants, students who score a 30 or 31 on the ACT are still encouraged to apply for the Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship as other tuition remission scholarship opportunities may become available.
Scott Scholars applicants can retake the ACT through December 2025 and submit updated scores via email, even after submitting thier intitial application. Email unoscottscholars@unomaha.edu for more on this process.
STEM Major
Scott Scholars candidates must plan to enroll in an approved STEM-focused academic program or major.

Many Scott Scholars choose to double major or minor in academic programs outside of STEM.
