Additional Information
This past summer, Marcus expanded his biomedical research experience at the Trudeau Institute in Saranac Lake, New York. His research focused on improving the efficacy of the flu vaccine by testing the immune response and survival of mice when given different adjuvants. Previously, he participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) at UNMC, where he studied excitation-contraction coupling in heart and skeletal muscles using techniques like SDS-PAGE, slide preparation, microscopy, and ATPase assays. He's also interned at UNMC’s Global Center for Health Security. Following graduation, Marcus plans to attend graduate school or enlist in the U.S. military.
