The UNO Speech Center offers personalized support to help you create, improve, practice, and enhance your communication skills. From developing presentations to practicing listening, the UNO Speech Center will help you develop the skills you need to succeed.

Public Speaking (CMST 1110 & CMST 2120) Tutoring
Your MavEd requirements provide an opportunity to develop and hone the skills that will help you excel at UNO and beyond. The UNO Speech Center will help you take advantage of this opportunity by helping you refine your fundamental skills in Oral Communication as you “exercise critical thinking skills” by “integrating seemingly disparate areas of knowledge in contexts of uncertainty.”

School of Communication Mentoring
As you take Communication Studies (CMST) courses, you will be able to (1) explain the field of communication studies and its relevance to personal, professional, and civic life, (2) apply communication theories and methods to analyze and evaluate communication phenomena, and (3) effectively communicate the connections among communication, culture, and difference.
