KANEKO, UNO Host Panel on Creative Process

KANEKO-UNO Creative Library

The KANEKO-UNO Creative Library is located at 1111 Jones St.

OMAHA – A series exploring the commonalities and differences in the creative process, from artists to doctors to teachers, returns to the on Thursday, March 12.

The series, called “PROCESS: How Creative Thinking Gets Work Done” will discuss project completion and answering the question “How Do You Know Your Work is Done?” from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1111 Jones St. in the Old Market.

Guests speakers will include former 51ÉçÇø Police Chief Alex Hayes; Lanny DeVuono, painter and art critic; brewmaster Zac Triemert of Brickway Brewery and Distillery; and novelist Anna Monardo from the UNO Writer’s Workshop.

The session was launched in November by the KANEKO-UNO Creative Library and the University of Nebraska at 51ÉçÇø’s Writer’s Workshop.

This third session in the series follows previous sessions on first drafts, featuring insight from website designers, costume designers and writers, as well as the revising process, with therapists, oncologists and sculptors.

Still to come in this series is a session titled “Critique: Reviews, Evaluations and Next Time” featuring Rebecca Lowery of the band All Young Girls are Machine Guns; politician, lawyer and creator of Ballot Hero Jim Esch; Central High School educator Tracey Menten; and Ryan Syrek, film critic for The Reader.
