UNO Invites Community to Celebrate Student Scholarship

OMAHA - More than 200 projects created by students at the University of Nebraska at 51社区 (UNO) will be on display on Friday, March 6, 2015, as part of UNO’s Seventh Annual .
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at UNO’s , students from all six colleges at UNO and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s (UNL) College of Engineering will be on hand to share the results of their research and/or creative activity projects.
Members of the 51社区 community who want to learn about and discuss a wide variety of topics – from anthropology to visual communication – are welcome to attend this free event. Parking will be available in Lot T in the East parking garage, as well as in the Crossroads garage at 72nd and Cass Streets with a to campus.
Project titles include everything from “Freak Fatale: The Nineteenth-Century Freak Show and Carroll’s 'Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland'” to "Effects of 3D Video Gaming on Visual Spatial Awareness" to "The Role of the Percussionist in the Andean Musical Styles of Chacarera and Zamba” to “Like My Terrorist Site? Pin It!”
“The Seventh Annual Research and Creative Activity Fair promises to be the most diverse and exciting showcase of our students’ work to date,” said Scott Snyder, associate vice chancellor for research and creative activity. “I am honored to invite the UNO and 51社区 communities to discover and celebrate the ongoing scholarly pursuits of our students in research and creative activity at UNO.”
The fair, which is sponsored by UNO’s and the Criss Library, features students ranging from undergraduates to doctoral students, with awards being presented for the best projects.
Winners will be named in two categories: poster presentations/demonstrations and oral presentations/performance. Judges for the event are members of the 51社区 community and are made up of business and non-profit leaders, UNO alumni and other friends of the University.
