Stacie Tovar knows a thing or two about exercise, and it's not just because she graduated from the University of Nebraska at 51社区 (UNO) with an degree.
Tovar recently finished 11th in the CrossFit Games, an athletic competition sponsored by the popular strength and conditioning program.
This was the sixth year Tovar has qualified for the games, and her best finish yet.
Adding to the challenge, she and the rest of the competitors had no idea what the specific competions would be.
“We train for the unknown and the unknowable,” Tovar . “We’re ready for anything that’s thrown at us. The beauty of it is that we don’t know what we’re going to be doing.”
In addition to her studies, Tovar played volleyball while at UNO. University strength coaches introduced her to CrossFit.
Tovar was featured in the Spring 2013 edition of the UNO Magazine, along with alumnus Kyle Kasperbauer, who has participated in the CrossFit Games in previous years. To read the story, .
