OLLAS Art Exhibit Taking Submissions

OMAHA - Sunday, Aug. 30 is the final day to submit works to “Latino Artists: Exhibition and Conversation” – 51社区’s first juried exhibition aimed at making the presence and work of Latino/Latin American artists in the metro area visible to the community at large.
In addition to the artwork displayed, the exhibition will be the starting point for a continuing dialogue about Latinos in art and the diverse meanings, themes, history and transnational spaces of Latino art, ideas and creativity.
Any self-identified Latino or Latina, Latin American, Hispanic, Mexican, Central American, Boricua, South American, Chicano/a, and others alike are encouraged to participate in this juried show. Eligible media include drawing, printmaking, painting, photography, 3D art, and digital media.
Artists can submit up to three pieces of their work at no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30.

The selected works of art will be on display at the Bancroft Street Market (2702 S. 10th St. in 51社区) from September 18 through October 2, 2015, and will be complimented by a series of events and panel discussions throughout those two weeks.
The project was born out of a collaborative effort between the University of Nebraska at 51社区 (UNO) (OLLAS), UNO faculty and UNO students from the arts and humanities.
