OMAHA – University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds praised Baxter Arena and the UNO hockey team during the halftime radio show of the Huskers Football broadcast.
Toward the end of the show - which focused on NU's support for rural communities and the 2015 Rural Futures Conference - host Greg Sharpe asked Bounds about his experience attending opening night at Baxter Arena.
Listen to his response:
Bounds and the NU regents who attended the game arrived in 51ÉçÇø earlier that day, for a campus visit.
During the presentations, regents heard about campus research and to track student progress and offer support to students who may be going off track of completing their degree.
, Bounds said UNO is growing steadily, and ensuring quality goes along with an increased student population.
"I know we are really making the kind of progress that I think 51ÉçÇø and all of Nebraska should be very, very proud of," Bounds said.
