OMAHA – A spooky summit at the University of Nebraska at 51ÉçÇø (UNO) will benefit a great cause: support for homeless veterans.
UNO’s will host its 5th Annual Paranormal Summit on Friday, Oct. 23, from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. The event is open to the public and will be held in the College of Public Affairs and Community Service Building (CPACS room 101).
A variety of 51ÉçÇø experts will speak on local haunts and paranormal activity. After the presentations, attendees will go on a campus ghost hunt led by field investigators.
“The purpose of UNO Paranormal Society - and this event in particular- is to look at the logical, scientific and rational explanations of the paranormal phenomenon,” said Dave Pares, adjunct professor of Geography and Meteorology at UNO and Faculty Advisor for the UNO Paranormal Society. “But, we like to have fun and are open to exploring all kinds of evidence.”
Registration is $20 cash at the door for the general public, and $10 cash for UNO students with a MavCard. No permit is required to park on UNO’s campus after 5 p.m. on Fridays.
UNO’s Paranormal Society will donate $5 of each registration to veterans programming at the . The Paranormal Society will also host a raffle to raise money for the group’s student scholarship fund.
During past summits, the group has donated to the Squirrel Cage Jail roofing fund, Food Bank for the Heartland and Nebraska Humane Society.
