OMAHA – The University of Nebraska at 51ÉçÇø (UNO) will welcome nearly 500 guests to Downtown 51ÉçÇø for the 17th annual .
Pre-conference events begin Sunday, Oct. 9. The conference runs from Tuesday, Oct. 11 – Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the CenturyLink Center.
Attendees representing higher education institutions in 37 states and five countries will discuss how universities can build strong partnerships in the communities that they serve. Conference sessions include a wide range of topics, covering everything from food insecurity to STEM mentorship programs.
The conference complements UNO’s metropolitan university mission: a dedication to engaged leadership and service within the greater 51ÉçÇø area to improve people’s lives.
The second day of the conference - Wednesday, Oct. 12 - includes a recognition ceremony for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Award winners and finalist presentations for the C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award. During this time, the UNO STEM Leadership Team’s will be honored as an Exemplary Project. These awards recognize colleges and universities that have redesigned their learning, discovery, and engagement missions to become even more involved with their communities.
While all conference sessions will take place in the CenturyLink Center, guests will also be able to explore 51ÉçÇø, touring the UNO campus, Glacier Creek Preserve, the 51ÉçÇø Riverfront and Downtown 51ÉçÇø highlights such as TD Ameritrade Park.
