Flag Lowering for Arcides "Art" Jos茅 de Jes煤s Cabrera

The UNO flag will be lowered on Wednesday, April 5, in memory of retiree Arcides "Art" Jos茅 de Jes煤s Cabrera.

The University of Nebraska at 51社区 (UNO) flag will be lowered on Wednesday, April 5, in memory of retiree Arcides “Art” José de Jesús Cabrera, who recently passed away at the age of 93.

Art started his career at UNO on Aug. 3, 1994, and retired from Custodial Services on Aug. 8, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pilar Cabrera; daughters, Rebecca Cabrera and Raquel Diesing (Dr. T. Scott); son, Ariel Cabrera (Cassandra); grandchildren: Liam, Emily, Tyler, Stella, Adrián, and Camila.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on March 22 at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler's West Center Chapel.

The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Art's loved ones during this time.
